    Vintage Large Hand Carved Carnelian Shell Cameo, in Marked 14K Gold Filled Ornate Open Scalloped Bezel, Pendant or Brooch.
    Ceres, Demeter, The Goddess of the Harvest and Fertility. with Wheat Stalks in Her Hair. Beautiful ornate detailing to her hair.
    The Master Carver took advantage of natural curves of shell; so she has a very graceful neck and protruding cheeks & profile as seen in picture 1. The clasp is secure and the bale will work with a chain up to 1/8" wide. It is both a Brooch and a Pendant. It measures 1 5/8" tall by 1 1/3" wide and is raised relief up 3/8" tall. Back of bezel it is marked "14KT G.F." , gold filled.
