    Historic Vintage World War II United States Navy N-1 Deck Jacket - Whipcord w/full lining - Size 38 - Contract NXsx 73286
    The jacket measures: Armpit to armpit 21.5"; Shoulder to Shoulder 18.5"; Arm length 25" and Body length 26"
    The jacket is in overall good condition for the age of the item. The construction and overall shape of the jacket are good. The concealed knit cuffs and sleeve edges have many holes, jacket shows frayed edges and the zipper needs to be replaced.  All original buttons except one is missing. There are some spots throughout the jacket, please see photos.
    Unique feature, the size and contract tag is sewn in upside down which was not standard issue.
    This jacket was worn on the USS Cassin Young in the Pacific during WW II.  The Cassin Young had many missions including the recovery of 120 men from the carrier Princeton when that ship sank on October 24, 1944.
    This iconic jacket was introduced in the 1940's and soon became the cold weather coat for the U.S. Navy.  The N-1 was the longest serving jacket in the history of the U.S. Navy.
    This item is not meant to be worn but to be collected as one of the last items of the Greatest Generation.
