During World War II the forest green t-shirt was worn with matching shorts/drawers. See the book “
Uniforms, Insignia and Equipment of the United States Marine Corps, 1941-1945
”, page 46.

This auction is for one (1) t-shirt.
Six (6) t-shirts are available.
Here’s the story. In the early 2000s I purchased militaria on a frequent basis from a friend and World War II USMC veteran.
The veteran had made up a mannequin with WWII USMC utilities, helmet, cartridge belt, pack, etc., to represent his service in the Corps.
I purchased that grouping in November 2005, prior to the release of the movie “
Flags of Our Fathers
”.
I recently reviewed the items in that grouping.
Upon emptying the haversack I found six (6) forest green short-sleeve t-shirts which had been used to fill out the haversack.
Subsequently the t-shirts were placed under ultraviolet (UV) / “black” light and it was found that the thread in the t-shirts “glowed”, indicating modern manufacture.
Thus, I cannot claim that these t-shirts are WWII- or even Korean War-issue, but they are most likely later USMC issue, and not civilian or reproduction shirts.
These t-shirts are all the same, including size.
They are
solid color
, with no logo, emblem, or patch, as would be correct for military use.
The nomenclature/size tag that was sewn in the neck is gone.
On only one of the t-shirts can the remains of the white tag be seen.
Measurements (with t-shirt laid flat) –
20 inches - shoulder seam to shoulder seam (across the back)
24 inches - armpit seam to armpit seam (across the back)
24 inches – waist

26 inches – neck/collar to bottom of hem
These shirts are used and have been worn.
One shirt has a light white stain on the lower right front.
One shirt has several “V”-shaped light stains on the lower right rear.
One t-shirt has a 1/8 inch hole in the front.
The other three shirts appear to be good, but may have less obvious stains due to use. And, most generally, the t-shirt will be worn under a uniform so any defect will not be visible anyway.
No rips, tears, or snags. No objectionable odor.
This auction is for one (1) t-shirt.
If more than one is desired then the shipping cost will be calculated accordingly.
The three good shirts will go to bidders first, then the three with obvious issues.
The t-shirts have
NOT
been stored outdoors in a lean-to shed that fell over on them.
NO stains or
musty odor. Always stored indoors.

Perhaps this is due to the world-wide effects of the current global medical pandemic.
USPS Priority Mail packages I have sent to U.S. destinations have taken seven (7) or more days to arrive instead of the two (2) days promised by USPS.
Packages sent via other USPS services (First Class, Media Mail, etc.) may also take even longer to arrive at your door than one would expect in normal times.
International shipments may also be impacted by delays.
Please be patient.
Also, updates to the eBay package tracking service may lag far behind actual data.
On at least two occasions eBay tracking showed no data on the package until the day it was delivered.
