    Description

For auction is a beautiful Art Nouveau table lamp made by Tiffany Studios, New York. We have a small desk lamp that has a Tiffany Favrile original 7" art glass lighting shade. This lamp base and shade were made by Tiffany Studios, New York. This table lamp is a nice desk size as it stands 13 1/4" tall to the top of the heat cap and the 3 arms or spider that holds the shade is 7 3/4" in diameter at its widest point. The bottom of the base has a diameter of 6 3/8". The shade is 7" in diameter.
This table lamp depicts an art glass shade in the shape of a dome with a brilliant gold iridescent shade resting on a 3 arm or spider support. The shade unlit has a brilliant gold iridescent color with some fuchsia tones. It is beautiful when lit. The inside of the shade is cased in a white and opalescence. When looking inside the shade you can see not 1 but 2 of the star pattern that is synonymous with Tiffany. This pattern inside the shade was never duplicated by anyone and is as good as a signature.
The base displays an aged dore' or textured gold patina and an Art Nouveau theme to it. The base has a vertical reeded motif that resembles tree bark. This decoration starts at the base of the column and goes all the way up to the 3 arm elaborately decorated shade spider. The foot of the base is flat except for the mock round feet peeking out as if under a blanket. There are 8 of these mock feet that are evenly spaced around the foot of this base adding to it’s charm. To finish this exquisite lamp is a replica 2 1/4" heat cap in a aged gold patina and looks great with the lamp and base and very much like an original one.
The lamp base is considered to be in very good to excellent condition. The base still retains its original gold rayon lamp cord and Bakelite lamp plug. The flat GeCo paddle switch with mica interior is original to the base and works just fine. The Bell socket has all of its original screws as well. The base shows patina wear and some green oxidation and is still considered a very good example. The shade is in great shape as well. There are no cracks to the shade. There is a small flake off the top rim. This shade was mounted into a 2 1/4" fitter at one time and one of the fitter screws caused this. When the heat cap is installed on top you cannot see this. The base is signed "Tiffany Studios New York" along with its model number "606" just underneath. The art glass shade is signed at the inside top opening. It is signed "L.C.T." for Louis Comfort Tiffany in a clockwise manner.
This is a quality art glass table lamp. It would look great in a Arts and Crafts or brownstone home. I'm quite sure the buyer will be very pleased with this table lamp. This lamp was made circa 1905-1920. I recommend using no more than a 40 watt bulb as this is a nice accent lamp and I find that lower wattage looks even better. If you can use a LED bulb would be even better as it doesn't throw heat.
I have many more pictures if you need to see more of the lamp base and shade.
I will pack and ship this
shade in its own box and pack the base packed next to in with both
being in an outer box. It will be fully insured. I know I will be charged dimensional weight and I am shipping from the furthest zone here in New Hampshire. I have found my shipping cost to be accurate because of this and the materials we use to pack and ship lamps successfully. Also realize Ebay charges us sellers a 11.7% commission on shipping charges as well as sell price and this is factored in. Also included is sales tax that is added in before they assess their 11.7% charge.
    PLEASE READ BELOW
I want to apologize for slowing down my shipping time. Ebay forced me into managed payments in July of this year 2020.
I used to get my money in 24 hours. I now get it in 3-4 business days. I was told it would be better for me and my fees would go down. This has been the opposite as my fees have actually increased and now it takes longer for me to receive the payments
. Because of this slowdown I will not ship until the payment has made it into my bank account. No store lets you out of the building with the
    merchandise
    unless it is paid for.
    They are also n
ow charging all sellers a commission of 11.7% on sales tax. Pay Pal used to charge 2.9% payment processing fee but Ebay has changed this to 11.7%. This is an increase of 8.8% on the sales tax portion. They are now making a profit on the sales tax and treating it as a sale which in my eyes is wrong!! They did the same on the shipping charges several years ago. They use to not charge anything and now they are charging 11.7% commission on shipping as well. This has raised the cost to ship items to you, the buyer and this is factored into my shipping charges.
If you feel what Ebay is doing is wrong or you don't agree them please contact Ebay and voice your opinion. Maybe if enough of you do this, they will change their policy.
