Estate sale find!! Vintage A2 US AAF WWII Leather Army Air Forces Bomber Jacket Sz40 Crown Zipper. Condition is "Used". Jacket is a nice chocolate brown leather. It is a medium textured leather which is not stiff nor is it the butter soft feel of kid leather. There are issues of age on the leather. Be sure to check out all photos as they show condition and are part of description. Jacket has the slanted front pockets and a zippered upper pocket. The center Crown zipper is in great working condition and has the first Crown logo. The khaki lining is a thick cotton fabric which is also used under the collar. The finger strap in the center back appears to have been replaced. To me there appears to be a faint stamping on the center back of the liner but I cannot make out any letters or numbers. It feels like the same fabric that the men’s military uniform shirt cotton khaki 1 is made from. The pocket lining is khaki cotton flannel and there is a size 40 cotton tag inside the left pocket. I will be more than happy to post more photos of any areas of concern, just send me a message. I have not cleaned or conditioned the jacket in any way.
Measurements
Chest measures 22” across making it a 40 chest, across shoulders is 17-1/4”, elastic band waist is 18-23” laying flat making it a 36-46” waist, shoulder to hem is 22”, sleeve from center of back to sleeve hem is 33”, sleeve from shoulder to hem is 25”.
