    Description

This is an exceptionally fine World War II U.S. Non-Combatant’s Class “A” Uniform Jacket for an Army Officer with prior active military service that remains in excellent condition. The jacket is constructed of officer’s quality chocolate brown elastique wool. It features dark brown plastic buttons in lieu of brass buttons for active military personnel. Sewn to each lapel is a non-combatant’s triangular patch with a “US” embroidered in blue cotton thread on a khaki background with blue embroidered border. Sewn to the shoulder of the left sleeve is a 3 x 3inch square non-combatant’s patch that has a khaki “US” within a blue triangle on a khaki background without border. At the lower cuff of this sleeve are five overseas bars representing at least 2½ years of overseas service. Sewn above the left breast pocket are two rows of service ribbons. The first row is two-place and consists of the Army Good Conduct Medal and the American Campaign Medal. The second row is three-place consisting of the European Theater of Operations Medal with two bronze campaign stars, the World War II Victory Medal, and the Army of Occupation Medal. Sewn to the right shoulder is a spectacular German made 1st Allied Airborne Shoulder patch that defies description. It is absolutely stunning. See the photos for details. The jacket is complete with waist belt and OD green plastic buckle. The interior is lined with green polished cotton. The inside breast pocket is with a tailor’s tag that reads, “REGULATION ARMY OFFICER’S UNIFORM”. The interior of the pocket has a spec tag that dates the jacket, March 4, 1944 and gives the size as “37R”. There is no moth damage or damage of any kind to this uniform. It remains an excellent example in untouched condition.
Please do not ask for additional measurements as this historic uniform is to be respected and honored. They have done their service and are now to be preserved and cared for … not worn.
**Note the enlisted version of this uniform jacket being worn by the interpreter seated to the left in the 1945 Malmedy Massacre trial photo.
